Leyenda de la Soterraña
Se cuenta que al rey Alfonso VI, antes de conquistar la villa de Olmedo, se le apareció una virgen y le anunció que la batalla del día siguiente le iba a ser favorable. Tras la victoria mandó buscar la imagen de la virgen, hasta que la encontró en un pozo, soterrada o enterrada, de ahí viene el nombre de Virgen de la Soterraña.
Legend of the Soterraña
It is said that, before conquering the town of Olmedo, the Virgin appeared to King Alphonse VI and told him that the next day’s battle was going to be favorable. After the victory he ordered to find the effigy of the virgin, until they found it in a pit, underground or buried, hence the name of the Virgin of Soterraña.
